AdventIsaiah 2:5
Free Bible verse app for iPhone
A new verse and a new picture on your Home Screen every morning.
Free to download. Pro is optional.
Collections
Each collection brings a new picture every morning, with lettering to match. First Light is free, and Pro adds 14 more.

The verses follow the church year, the seasons Christians have kept for centuries. With Pro, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter bring their own pictures too.

Where it shows
Small, medium or large, on your collection's picture or a calm color.
Under the clock, in a small circle or beside the date.
On the nightstand while your iPhone charges: the last thing you see at night and the first in the morning.
When a whole verse won't fit, you see its heart, a short form chosen by hand.
Brightword Pro
The daily verse, the whole Bible and the First Light collection are free. Pro adds the rest.
Yearly or monthly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and you can cancel any time in Settings.
Questions
Yes. A new verse every morning on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, the First Light collection, the whole Bible with search, reminders, and saving and sharing verses are all free. Pro adds the other collections, Lock Screen wallpapers, your topic and saved verses on your Home Screen, and every reading plan at once.
Three things. The verses follow the church year, so Advent and Easter each have their own. Every verse is chosen by hand to stand on its own. And each morning brings a new picture, with lettering to match.
Brightword shows you the first time you open it. On your Home Screen, press and hold a blank spot, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Brightword. You can also press and hold the Brightword icon and pick a size.
By hand. Every verse in the daily rotation was read and kept only if it brings comfort, hope or wisdom on its own, without the chapter around it. When a verse is too long to show whole, a short form is chosen by hand too.
The calendar many churches keep: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost, with ordinary weeks between. Brightword follows it, so the verses change with each season, and with Pro the pictures do too.
Yes. Tap the verse to read it in context, in the Berean Standard Bible or the King James Version. Both are in the public domain, and the whole Bible is on your iPhone, so it works offline.
An iPhone with iOS 18 or later. Brightword isn't available for Android.
No. Brightword works without signing in. If you allow it, the app shares how it is used so we can improve it, and you can change that in Settings at any time.
On iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Brightword. Cancel at least a day before a renewal and you won't be charged for it.
Free to download. Coming soon to the App Store.
